Art and Activism
Working Along the Lines of Activism and Artistic Expression, a 3-part series
This three-part series in collaboration with the New York State Bar Association EASL Section’s Diversity Committee and Fine Arts Committee will explore the world of activist art from artistic, legal, and social perspectives. Tonight, we begin with Activist Art: An Artist’s Perspective. The discussion will consider the level of vulnerability required to make art in pursuit of social change, the personal motivations for such a practice and address the legal concerns for artists contemplating artistic activism. Speakers will include Ming Smith, Adrienne Fields, and Zoe Buckman, Dáreece Walker, and Halima Taha as moderator.
